We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor for our Leak Detection Integration & Optimization team. This position is responsible for supervising the delivery of high-performance Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) leak detection systems for Liquid Pipeline projects. The role involves leading a highly skilled team to meet project Leak Detection requirements for scope, schedule, and budget. The role also fosters innovation by initiating internal projects that drive performance improvements of our CPMs.

Internally, the title is known as Supervisor TIS PCSLD LD CPM Integration & Optimization.

What will you do:

  • Lead a team of Leak Detection Engineers & Specialists and consultants for project-based initiatives.

  • Identify and initiate projects to drive performance improvements of our Computational Pipeline Monitoring leak detection systems.

  • Build and support a strong culture of ownership and technical stewardship in this high value area.

  • Support an innovative team that leverages real-time modeling data to develop value-added operational tools that enhance LP performance.

  • Ensure team members deliver to scorecard objectives and collaborate with other teams and external consultants through all project phases.

  • Lead all aspects of the development, quality assurance testing, and pre-start-up tuning of new or modified high-performance CPM leak detection systems. Contributes actively to industry organizations focused on evolving leak detection technology.

  • Understands North American leak detection related regulatory requirements.  Ensures all new or project modified CPMs meet or exceed regulatory requirements and project specific commitments (including NEB/CER, AER, DOT, PHMSA); resolves gaps as appropriate.

  • Responsible for reviewing company Management of Change requests on behalf of Leak Detection.

  • Initiating, developing, and supporting strategies for continuous improvement to LD processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for timely completion of internal and external regulatory/compliance requirements within the area of responsibility and represent LD in external audits.

  • Cultivate a “Positive Mindset” within LD to transform challenges into growth opportunities by encouraging a growth mindset and promoting a “can-do” attitude

  • Recruit and hire qualified personnel, develop team productivity, performance assessment, employee career development, and maintain employee engagement in a fast-paced, high-stress work environment.

Who You Are:

  • Professional Engineer along with an Engineering Degree, with 7 + years of progressively responsible experience, including at least 5 years of relevant experience directly related to the hydrocarbon pipeline or similar process industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Outstanding ability to lead resources effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Pipeline hydraulics knowledge and experience is a huge asset.

  • Previous computational pipeline monitoring experience is preferred.

  • Project management experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • This role typically operates in an office environment.

  • You will be required to participate in 24/7 escalation support on-call rotation to support Leak Detection Analysts and production leak detection systems.

  • May be required to assist with incident investigations after hours.

  • May travel within North America to deliver presentations, participate in fluid withdrawal tests, or attend training.

  • Occasional travel to partner sites and field locations as required.
