We are looking for a Power Trader & Marketing Rep to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Director Power Trading, Origination and Asset Management, this role is responsible for managing Enbridge power assets by focusing on marketing initiatives in North American power markets. Primary responsibilities include commercial management and optimization of Tidal and Enbridge’s existing power portfolio and exploring opportunities to grow and expand the business.

What You Will Do:

Responsible for the short and medium term commercial management and execution of: day-ahead/virtual trading, financial hedging activities, congestion management and other asset-based initiatives.

Focus on bringing value through prudent management of the Enbridge power portfolio and taking advantage of optimization opportunities within power markets. Primary markets of focus will be ERCOT, with additional exposure to AESO, PJM and IESO initiatives.

Be a key contributor in the implementation and growth of the Power business, including owning the analytics and reporting functions for the Power team.

Demonstrate ability to analyze market conditions in order to implement prudent trading strategies aimed at growing profit while mitigating risk.

Through close alignment with all members of the commercial team, support Tidal’s growth initiatives.

Monitor and gauge industry developments (broadly and a part of industry working groups) to assist with deployment of the current business plan, to support strategies for capturing cross commodity opportunities, and to support Enbridge and Tidal business development initiatives.

Be an ambassador for the Tidal and Enbridge brand internally and externally, foster a culture of customer focus, innovation, continuous improvement, leadership and teamwork.
Who You Are:
Required:

Bachelor’s Degree – Business (Commerce), Economics, Mathematics, Science or Engineering.

At minimum, 6 years progressive experience in the energy industry.

Specialized industry experience preferably gained from working in the commodity marketing field with exposure to power trading. Experience in power markets an asset. Real time experience, scheduling and asset optimization all desirable.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build consensus and promote ideas for both internal and external partners.

Highly motivated and energetic self-starter possessing strong customer focus, while delivering on key strategic initiatives.
Preferred:

CFA or equivalent experience considered an asset

Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple tasks.
