Are you ready to step into a high-impact role where technical expertise meets strategic innovation? Were seeking a dynamic Supervisor US Tax Provision to take the lead in coordinating and calculating our year-end and quarterly tax provisions. In this key position, you’ll work closely with our Canadian consolidated tax provision and reporting team to deliver accurate and insightful financial statement tax disclosures.

But this isn’t just about compliance- it’s about transformation. You’ll drive the long-range planning (LRP) and forecasting cycles that underpin our FIN18 quarterly provisions under ASC 740, while also leading a full-scale overhaul of our provision and forecasting processes. Using automation and innovative systems, you’ll help build a modern, future-ready tax provision platform.

What you will do:

  • Leads the US year end income tax provision planning and execution using ASC 740 principles.
  • Develops automation and system connectivity between OTP and CorpTax to align return and provision.
  • Coaches and develops team members on ASC740 principles and concepts, reviewing all year end calculations
  • Researches and provides guidance to the tax manager on new tax laws and regulations, specifically regarding the US consolidated tax provision.
  • Assists in planning and modeling tax transactions and determining the impact to the provision and the consolidated income tax return
  • Leads the preparation of internal budgets and forecasts such as the LRP and 5+7, working with the Canadian tax provision team to explain variances.
  • Develops new and automated approaches to the LRP and forecasts to reduce complexity and find opportunities to collaborate with other tax processes.

Who you are:

You have:

  • 7+ years of tax experience along with a bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of large complex consolidated tax returns

You can:

  • Offer a solid understanding of Alteryx, PowerQuery, PowerBI, PowerAutomate and use of these software’s along with having advanced knowledge of ASC740 principles and proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Oracle, OTP and CorpTax

You are:

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator who can connect effectively with team members both inside and outside of the organization

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
