Are you ready to take your engineering expertise to the field? We are seeking a Pipeline Field Engineer to join our dynamic pipeline construction management team. Here’s what you will do:
- 
Provide engineering support to construction activities. 
- 
Manage field engineering documents 
- 
Prepare, track and monitor technical deviation requests (TDR) and requests for information (RFI) 
- 
Prepare, track and manage field design changes 
- 
Provide technical analysis of engineering, construction and material non-conformance reports (NCR) 
- 
Track and resolve outstanding engineering items 
- 
Coordinate and manage the redlining of drawings and the final as-built documents. 
- 
Collect, log and issue lessons learned 
- 
Provide engineering support for on-site procurement activities 
Who You Are:
You have the following education and/or experience:
- 
Engineering degree in an applicable discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum) 
- 
Minimum of 4 years of experience 
- 
Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly 
- 
Problem-solve issues through use of standards, modification of standards and/or previous experience 
- 
Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff 
Preferred:
- 
Natural gas pipeline design experience for onshore transmission lines in the U.S. 
- 
Experience with FERC construction requirements 
- 
Working knowledge of industry codes (ASME B31.8, 49CFR192 (DOT Code)) 
- 
Familiarity and knowledge of materials standards & specs (ANSI Ratings, ASME, API, MSS, etc.) 
- 
Horizontal Directional Drill Design (HDD), road bores, and applicable load/stress calculations 
- 
Solid understanding of construction operations used in the installation of large diameter, cross country pipelines. 
- 
Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience. 
- 
Proficient in Excel and Word with computer literacy. 
- 
Proven ability to drive and perform safely. 
- 
Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues. 
Working Conditions:
- 
One month in the home Houston office for project orientation and familiarization. Next 14 months on temporary assignment to Tennessee. Time Away from Home Base policy will be applied for this temporary assignment period 
- 
Approximately 10% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams 
- 
Approximately 90% of time is spent in the field scoping projects or supporting construction and commissioning activities 
- 
Field assignment with extended work week (60 hours per week – 6 days -10 hours per day) 
- 
Time sensitive deliverables 
- 
Work requires strong computer skills typically using Microsoft Office applications 
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
