The Role: Treasury and Corporate Investments is responsible for corporate finance, corporate cash management and banking, and mortgage financing functions across IGM Financial.

As a Manager, Capital Management, you will be a key member within the corporate finance function of the Treasury and Corporate Investments Department. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will work on a variety of assignments pertaining to capital markets transactions; internal capital, liquidity and risk management activities; and various financial instrument valuations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Corporate Finance & Strategic Analysis
    1. Conduct research and analysis to support corporate finance initiatives, including capital structure, shareholder returns, regulatory capital, and seed capital
    2. Contribute to capital market transactions such as debt refinancing and issuances
    3. Perform regular analysis of our corporate hedging program and provide recommendations to leaders.
  2. Valuation & Financial Modeling
    1. Perform valuations of various financial instruments (e.g. equity & currency derivatives, debt instruments, stock options)
    2. Design, develop, and enhance complex financial and valuation models to inform strategic decision making and drive efficient reporting cycles
  3. Reporting & Communication
    1. Prepare quarterly and annual reporting for inclusion in consolidated financial statements and other public disclosure documents
    2. Summarize analysis, research, and recommendations in clear, compelling presentations for senior management and the Board
    3. Coordinate with internal parties to ensure we are in compliance with our regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. CSOX, SEDI reporting, etc.)
  4. Defined Benefit Pension Plan Reporting & Administration
    1. Contribute to the ongoing reporting and analysis related to our defined benefit pension plan investments, including risk management strategies
    2. Contribute to the administration of plan including cash management and rebalancing transactions
  5. Process Improvement, Automation, & Controls
    1. Identify and implement process improvements, including automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy
    2. Develop and maintain strong financial controls in accordance with company policy and procedures

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline. Professional designation such as CFA, CPA, FSA, or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, corporate finance, treasury, or capital markets
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and capital markets transactions
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience in scenario analysis, stress testing, and Bloomberg would be an asset
  • Familiarity and understanding of hedging instruments, derivatives, and treasury systems
  • Knowledge of internal controls, CSOX compliance, and audit processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and produce quality work under challenging time constraints
  •  Familiarity with Microsoft Co-Pilot and other AI tools would be an asset

The expected annual base salary range for this role is ($77,500- $105,000), which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
