We are seeking a Supervisor Meter Shop Operations for our North Bay team. This role oversees compliance with our Measurement Accreditation Program (MAP) and manages all production and resourcing related to the safe and efficient supply, repair, testing and sealing of rotary and turbine meters and volume correctors for Enbridge Gas Ontario.

Pay Range: $112,000.00 – $130,000 – based on experience, skills and capabilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide operational, safety and technical leadership to North Bay Meter Shop personnel in the delivery of services that include repair, testing, and sealing of rotary and turbine meters and associated measurement equipment for Enbridge Gas Ontario.

  • Lead and develop a staff of approximately 10 employees including a mix of hourly, clerical, and salaried roles. Ensure all employees are properly trained and equipped to work in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with the MAP.

  • Accountable for the analysis, evaluation, correlation and maintenance of all measuring apparatus and test equipment calibration and measurement capabilities.

  • Responsible for the review and analysis (Root Cause Analysis) of identified non-conformances and the development, documentation and implementation of corrective action to prevent recurrence.

  • Lead the preparation and facilitation of quarterly and annual MAP reviews; participate in annual MAP audits.

  • Establish and execute annual production plans in concert with related capital and operating budgets, based on product life spans, return rates, field crewing plans, and applicable legislation.

  • Promote production strategies and continuous improvement efforts that maximize life cycle value. Considerations included production equipment evaluation / purchases, product life cycle analysis, and vendor selection decisions.

  • Manage meter/instrument inventory and logistics to meet service level requirements for field operations.

  • Contribute, as a member of the Meter Shop Leadership Team, to effective MAP implementation and alignment of meter shop operations to shared GDS operating models.

  • Recruit, develop and retain talent within the meter shop. Guide and support the professional growth and development of personnel to ensure organizational success.

 

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree in Engineering or other technical fields such as, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or instrumentation, with seven (7+) plus years’ experience OR nine (9+) plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Experience in initiating and leading process improvement and/or technology implementation projects.

  • Strong communication, organization and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.

  • People Leadership experience.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience within a utility environment and in the implementation of meter related production processes to meet Measurement Canada requirements.

  • Experience with quality management systems / audits.

  • Experience managing a unionized workforce.

  • Project Management experience.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This is an office/meter shop-based position that takes care of critical production deadlines.

  • Some travel to field sites / other operational locations required (frequency 5-10%).

  • Occasional operation of lifting equipment.
