This individual will assist in relationship management with ChinaAMC, contribute to strategic projects, conduct investment and product analysis, and provide insights into China’s asset management and capital markets. In addition, the role will assist in servicing Asian institutional clients and prospects, ensuring exceptional client experience and responsiveness. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset to ensure seamless execution of initiatives across regions. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Senior Asia Business Manager: Act as backup and assist in day-to-day responsibilities, including coordination of Asia-related projects and initiatives. The strategic location of this role in Beijing, complementing the Senior Manager’s location in Toronto, creates a time-zone advantage that ensures continuous, around-the-clock operational support for the Asia team. ChinaAMC Relationship Management:Work closely with the Head of Asia Team to strengthen partnerships with ChinaAMC.Coordinate meetings, visits, and training sessions between ChinaAMC and Mackenzie’s internal teams.Facilitate communication and follow-up on joint projects, including product cooperation and sales/corporate Client Servicing and Cultural Awareness:Assist in servicing Asian institutional clients and prospects, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.Be comfortable in client-facing situations and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.Understand and respect cultural differences, adapting communication and behavior to foster trust and strong relationships. Market and Business Analysis:Prepare financial reports on ChinaAMC KPIs and performance.Conduct research and analysis on China’s capital market trends and regulatory developments.Produce periodic newsletters and insights on China’s asset management industry for internal stakeholders.Assist in creating white papers on investment themes, product development, policy analysis etc. Project Participation:Contribute to Asia team projects, including product development, institutional sales initiatives, and client onboarding processes.Assist in RFP/DDQ preparation and due diligence meetings when required. Reporting and Communication:Maintain and update Asia-related databases and research repositories.Provide timely updates and reports to the Head of Asia Team and other senior leaders. QualificationsMaster’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Commerce, or related field.Minimum five years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in asset management and institutional businesses. Solid understanding of asset management business; institutional sales experience and servicing Asian clients is an asset.Fluent in Mandarin and English; proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus.Strong knowledge of China’s capital markets and regulatory environment as well as the capital markets in Canada and North America. Skills and AttributesFast learner with the ability to adapt to dynamic environments and work across time zones.
