Position
We are currently hiring interns to join our IG Wealth Management AI Internship Program this summer (May–August) in our Toronto office. As part of this inaugural program, interns will work alongside Senior Leaders across IG to help embed AI-driven capabilities into real business strategies and initiatives.
In a supportive and collaborative environment, interns are empowered with ownership over their work, gaining hands-on experience managing projects and presenting outcomes to senior stakeholders. This opportunity is open to undergraduate students who will be returning to school after the internship.
Intern placement will work within one of the following departments; Financial Planning, Sales & Distribution, Investment Solutions, Investment Strategy, Mortgage, Insurance & Banking, Strategy, Advisor & Client Experience, and Private Company Advisory.
Responsibilities:
- Work on real AI and automation projects that support business teams and leaders
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to explore how AI can improve processes, decisions, and client experience
- Help break down business problems and turn ideas into AI use cases, workflows, or simple prototypes
- Research new AI tools, trends, and use cases and share key insights with the team
- Support data preparation and basic analysis to enable AI and analytics initiatives
- Assist with testing, documentation, and improvement of AI tools or process enhancements
- Create presentations and visuals to share progress and results with senior leaders
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and learning sessions focused on responsible and ethical AI
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency and support continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school following the internship (e.g., Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Data, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field)
- Demonstrate interest and experience in AI tools, emerging technologies, and their application in business, particularly within financial services
- Comfortable working with data, tools, or technology to solve problems
- Curious, proactive, and excited to learn new concepts and technologies
- Able to work independently while collaborating with teammates
- Clear communicator who can explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to AI, data, or automation
- Organized, motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is (44,000 – 51,000), which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
