What You Will Do:

  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives for Alliance Partnerships and Joint Utility Trench services within the assigned Business Unit, contributing to the development and execution of sourcing strategies based on market conditions and internal stakeholder needs.

  • Manage supplier relationships by supporting vendor prequalification, performance evaluations, utilization monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure cost‑effective and compliant supplier engagement.

  • Drive cost optimization by supporting cost‑reduction initiatives, coordinating supplier cost increases, and compiling pricing analyses to ensure fair market value and informed decision‑making.

  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain, contracting, and risk‑management policies by monitoring contract execution, supplier performance, and adherence to contractual obligations.

  • Identify, investigate, and support resolution of contract non‑compliance, including root‑cause analysis related to spend categories, buying channels, or process gaps.

  • Conduct contract‑specific audits in collaboration with the Enterprise SCM Planning & Governance team to support risk mitigation and governance objectives.

  • Analyze and interpret internal and external data from multiple sources to produce reports and insights related to supplier performance, compliance, market trends, and sourcing outcomes.

  • Support GDS SCM leadership by delivering periodic reporting, performing data analysis, validating vendor payments, and recommending process and system improvements.

  • Use Maximo to assess compliance with contract payment terms, validate automated payments, and complete post‑payment reviews in accordance with requirements.

Who You Are:

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in a Business, Engineering, Economics or Supply Chain related field.

  • A minimum of two to four years of related experience.

  • For candidates who do not possess a University degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required.

  • Proficiency in oral and written communications is essential, including the ability to present effectively.

  • Advanced computer skills required including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

  • Advanced mathematical and analytical acumen.

  • Team player with an ability to relate to and work cooperatively with all levels in an organization.

  • Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in SCM would be an asset.

  • Enrollment in the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation program or equivalent is an asset.

Salary range is $75000 – $85000 CAD. Salary will based candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
