The Role: We are seeking a strategic, highly collaborative Senior Manager, Event Programming to lead the content vision and execution for IG’s corporate and advisor-facing events. This role sits at the intersection of event management, content strategy, and live experience design, ensuring that what audiences hear, see, and feel works together seamlessly to deliver measurable business impact.

 

As the senior content lead, you will oversee the full lifecycle of event programming – from strategy and narrative development through live execution and post-event amplification – with a deep understanding of how content decisions influence production, flow, audience engagement, and overall event experience. You will partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, guiding stakeholders through content decisions and ensuring every program is purposeful, immersive, and delivered to the highest standard.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Event Content Strategy, Experience & Execution

  • Lead the development of integrated content strategies and program agendas that align business objectives with audience experience, production realities, and event flow
  • Drive the content critical path, understanding dependencies across event planning, production, creative, and communications to ensure on-time delivery
  • Lead ownership of runsheet and script development/emcee alignment, ensuring clarity, pacing, tone, and audience engagement
  • Review and approve all presentation materials for accuracy, brand alignment, and experience considerations such as timing, transitions, and staging
  • Ensure bilingual (English/French) content strategies are thoughtfully and consistently embedded across the attendee experience
  • Develop post-event content strategies that extend value beyond the live moment

 

Speaker & Talent Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and present speaker recommendations with consideration for stage presence, audience resonance, and format suitability
  • Lead speaker discovery and briefing sessions to ensure alignment with objectives, tone, timing, and delivery expectations
  • Oversee on-site rehearsals for Tier 1 events, working closely with production teams to ensure speakers are fully prepared and supported

 

Marketing, Creative & Experience Alignment

  • Define key messaging for all event-related communications, ensuring consistency across pre-event marketing, on-site experience, and post-event touchpoints
  • Review and approve event websites, promotional assets, and session descriptions with an eye toward clarity, engagement, and experience cohesion
  • Lead creative theme development, briefing creative teams on narrative, visual identity, and experiential intent

 

Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, bridging content vision with event execution realities
  • Proactively manage alignment across programming, planning, production, creative, and communications teams
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members

 

Measurement & Optimization

  • Partner on post-event reporting to assess performance, identify learnings, and inform future programming and experience design
  • Use performance insights, attendee feedback, and business priorities to continuously refine the annual content roadmap and inform future planning cycles.

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate event programming, content strategy, executive communications, or related roles
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with event management and production teams
  • 2+ years People management experience
  • Experience within financial services as well as awareness of the financial services competitive marketplace and trends are an asset.
  • Degree in business, communications, or event-related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP certification (preferred)
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicating with executives, sponsors, and partners to align on goals and deliverables. Experience working with senior executives and navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Decision-Making: Prioritizing programming elements under time and resource constraints
  • Agenda Design: Crafting compelling event schedules, themes, and session formats.
  • Data Analysis: Familiarity with audience analytics and engagement metrics.
  • Presentation preparation and delivery: Strong storytelling, writing, and editorial skills
  • Project management: proven experience with effective control of timelines. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Communication: Strong presentation and writing capabilities, meeting facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Problem Solving: The ability to problem solve under pressure (e.g., time constraints, and change in requirements) and strong problem-resolution skills
  • Technology: familiarity with livestreaming, hybrid formats, and content capture workflows – and strong proficiency in MS Office and Adobe applications
  • Ability to travel as required and the ability to work variable hours driven by the needs of the business

Knowledge of French and English is preferred to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec.

 

Work Hours: Event execution periods require a high level of commitment, including longer days asevent dates approach. Time flexibility and adaptability are essential for success in this role.

 

Travel Requirements: The ability requires mild to moderate travel domestically/internationally;Ability to travel legally within Canada and internationally, as required, to support the responsibilities of the role.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is ($90 000  – $100 000), which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
