It requires a strong command of financial planning concepts, advanced communication skills, and the ability to translate technical subject matter into compelling content for high-net-worth Canadians.
The Director will build and maintain a content calendar, lead regular editorial planning cycles, shape content created across the organization, and support the development of new PWM-specific channels. This individual will also mentor internal contributors, oversee agency/partner output, and ensure that all content aligns with brand standards and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership

- Establish and protect the PWM editorial voice, ensuring consistency across social, web, video, and advisor-facing materials.
- Develop content that aligns with quarterly themes (business priorities), and audience insights.
- Create and manage the PWM editorial calendar, ensuring proactive planning and timely delivery. (Our objective is to work a quarter in advance of theme to create proactive content)
- Provide editorial oversight for complex content, including wealth planning, tax, philanthropy, and advanced financial planning topics.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Write, edit, and shape multi-format content including articles, scripts, social posts, narratives, and advisor storytelling assets.
- Translate technical financial concepts into clear, engaging content suitable for high-net-worth audiences.
- Support on-camera talent and senior leaders with messaging, scripting, and narrative framing.
- Develop social-first content and short-form storytelling for channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
Channel Leadership & Social Strategy
- Build and guide PWM’s dedicated social channel presence, including platform-specific voice, tone, and content approaches.
- Create frameworks for content repurposing and adaptation across channels.
- Apply analytics to optimize content and inform channel strategies.
- Partner with Paid Media on amplification of key initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Field Marketing, AFP, Product, Brand, Digital, and Strategic Partnerships teams to align messaging and content priorities.
- Provide content guidance and direction to shared services (design, video) and external agencies.
- Participate in enterprise content planning to ensure alignment with broader IGM initiatives.
- Implement newsroom-style content planning, weekly standups, and cross-team workflow models.
- Manage agency partnerships and provide clear creative direction.
- Establish scalable systems for content development, review, repurposing, and approval.
- Ensure compliance and risk requirements are integrated smoothly into content workflows.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, business, or a related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, marketing, or digital storytelling.
- Experience in financial services, wealth management, or financial planning.
- Strong financial literacy; ability to understand and translate complex financial planning concepts.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi-channel content strategies.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across longform, shortform, and video/script formats.
