We are looking for a Control System Specialist II who will be tasked with maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and their associated infrastructure for GTM systems. What You Will Do:

Responsible for performing regular assessments, updates, improvements, and additions to the GTM (UST) HMI Systems support knowledge base, including creating and maintaining current documentation such as asset information, architecture diagrams, processes, and procedures.

Ensure HMI support team activities align with internal standards and procedures.

Lead and sustain continual improvement of Management of Change (MOC) practices pertaining to changes to the equipment and software.

Create and implement annual plans for managing HMI software, hardware, and operating systems.

Assist leadership in recognizing HMI team skills and offer training and mentoring to fill any gaps.

Provide Tier 1, 2 and 3 support by performing troubleshooting, repair, replacement and preventative activities.

Offers expert guidance and leadership to the HMI team by sharing knowledge, displaying best practices, and promoting continuous improvement.

Perform break-fix tasks and advanced troubleshooting for HMI applications, interfaces, PLC setups, network communications, and hardware components.

Responsible for ensuring that hardware is properly maintained and operational, including conducting preventative maintenance checks and rollover tests.

Recommend and implements lifecycle maintenance and replacement plans for the GTM HMI system software, hardware, and operating systems.

Responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and implementing changes to displays, data points, devices, and interfaces to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Primary point of contact that standards and best practices in the delivery and maintenance of systems are followed.

Responsible for timely execution of operating system and application security patches on GTM systems.

Leads and conducts due diligence assessments of change requests.

Support the completion of assigned capital projects through display builds and/or system configurations, and commissioning ICS systems application changes following standard operating practices.

Lead and/or participate, as a senior resource, in the analysis, configuration, modifying, testing, implementation, documentation and training of system functionality

Provides expert advice and recommendations on system upgrades to clarify technical requirements for informed financial decisions and acts as a key contact with application vendors.
Who You Are:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Science; with 7 or more years of experience implementing and sustaining SCADA/HMI control systems.

Knowledge of Programmable Logic controllers, RTU, meters, networking equipment, fiber optic equipment, and others.

Knowledge of OPC Serves and SCADA historian.

Knowledge of automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP and others)
-
Knowledge managed switches, Hirschman’s, MOXA, Cisco and others.
-
Knowledge of Networking, Cyber Security and Firewalls.
-
Proven experience with Aveva Application Server in Oil & Gas.
-
Strong understanding of industrial communication automation workflow.
-
Previous project experience delivering HMI, and other ICS solutions.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
-
Strong Microsoft Office skills using Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.

Working knowledge of VMware tools and virtual environments.
-
Proven relationship development and management.
-
Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
-
Excellent analytical, communications, and problems solving skills including root cause analysis.

Flexible and adaptable to change.
Preferred:
-
A Master’s degree would be an asset.
-
Aveva Application Server certification preferred.
