Are you a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer Facilities who works well within a strong team environment?
In this role, you’ll coordinate the design of facility expansions and maintenance capital projects executed by external engineering firms. You’ll define scope early—covering schedule, cost, and risk—and coordinate execution to ensure all deliverables align with Enbridge standards, regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal guidelines. You’ll also collaborate closely with Enbridge teams across Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services to ensure project and organizational requirements are fully integrated into the design.

What You Will Do:

Provides technical guidance to others on the team based upon technical expertise and recommends opportunities for improvement via lessons learned, technical standard change requests, engineering management plans, contractor evaluations, etc.

Manages, reviews and approves the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.

Owns and leads all aspects of the engineering project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned projects from project development through closeout.

Ensures that all assigned projects are developed as fit for purpose and in accordance with all regulations, environmental, health and safety, applicable industry codes and corporate standards.

Reviews vendor materials quotations, evaluates technical bids and recommends selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborates with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.

Leads and/or supports business initiatives e.g. cost saving opportunities in line with business justification for projects.
Who You Are:
-
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university, with experience in Liquids Facilities (e.g. API 650 storage tanks, booster pumps, piping, mainline pumps, manifolds, mechanical equipment, thermal mitigation, etc…) Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Management.

Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.

6+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change.

Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and resolving complex issues using strong technical and business judgment.

Strong stakeholder awareness and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical issues and impacts across internal and external, technical and non-technical teams.

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
Working Conditions:

Office – Hybrid environment.
-
Overnight business trips to the field and other locations may be required up to 10% of the time, requiring Personal Protective. Equipment (PPE). Ability to travel and work on projects throughout Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.

A valid driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required before hire.
