Play a key role in crafting the future of our pipeline systems as a Senior Hydraulic Engineer at Enbridge. In this role, you will lead the hydraulic design for pipeline, compression, metering, and regulation facilities—ensuring projects meet Company standards, regulatory requirements, and delivery commitments. You’ll collaborate across Major Projects, Operations, Gas Control, and Business Development to optimize system capacity and deliver safe, reliable energy solutions.

What You Will Do:

Maintain the hydraulic integrity of the pipeline.

Define the scope for pipeline, compressors, metering, and regulation facilities and perform screening studies for evaluation of projects.

Review vendor materials and performance quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend to the supervisor selections based on technical merit. For example, pipe, compressor packages, and meters and regulation equipment.

Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporate recommendations into future designs.

Manage pipeline models by studying the pipeline efficiencies, working with operations to reflect operating realities, and collecting recent contract information for use in pipeline models for capacity determination.
Who You Are:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum of 6 years of experience related to pipeline hydraulics/design.

Professional Engineering designation is preferred in the US.

Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly.

Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge.

Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team.

Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff.

Knowledge of the Gas Transmission Management assets.
Working Conditions:
-
95% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams.
-
5% of time is in the field scoping projects, meeting with potential shippers, or supporting construction and commissioning activities.

Time sensitive deliverables.

Work requires strong computer skills typically using Microsoft Office applications and hydraulic modeling software packages such as WinFlow, WinTran, PipeSim, ProMax
Physical Requirements:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
