What you will do:

  • Support the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wind turbines to maximize uptime and energy production.

  • Assist experienced technicians with scheduled maintenance, asset integrity inspections, and both minor and major repair work.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, schematics, and SCADA systems to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

  • Contribute to Balance of Plant (BOP) activities, including assisting with substation inspections, maintenance, and high voltage switching.

  • Follow established work plans and safety procedures, including electrical safety, working at heights, confined space, and control of hazardous energy.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using systems such as Maximo, while ensuring timely and quality execution of tasks.

  • Actively participate in training, continuous improvement initiatives, and team collaboration to enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance.

Who you are:

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimal to 1 year of relevant work experience and may have limited capabilities/qualifications related to wind turbines:

  • Ability to hear and use close range radios.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of basic industrial safety practices (including LOTO).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows systems with solid computer skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management capabilities.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure or hazardous situations.

  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to travel (passport eligible) and willingness to complete all required technical and safety training.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders 80 meters in height.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time. Regular walking.

  • Ability to grip and manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools, turbine parts.

  • Comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights over 80 meters.

  • Strong field of vision including visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.

  • The work environment requires working within the wind turbine Nacelle at a height of 300 ft.

  • Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions. Hot and Cold temperatures.

  • Able to comply with safe work limits on equipment, including 300lb climbing weight limit (including person and gear).

  • Flexible working hours may be required to support the facility and be available to support Emergency Response needs of the facility. Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary: 

  • Ranges from $24.50 – $26.00 hourly/USD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. 

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
