DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

I.G. Insurance Services Inc. distributes a full suite of life insurance, living benefit and group insurance products from four insurance partners to IG Wealth Management clients. The department maintains all aspects of the relationships with our insurance partners and IG Wealth Management advisors including product management, compensation, reporting and business planning.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Contracting & Transfer Specialist, is responsible for National Account Insurance contracting and transfer activities including day to day business processes related to insurance business transfers and coordination of transfer payments.  In addition, the Contracting & Transfer specialist supports the Manager on escalations related to Insurance carrier selling codes, agent of record changes and orphan policy management.  The Contracting & Transfer Specialist works with new Advisors, the Advisor Recruitment Experience Team, Field Directors, Region Office Management, Insurance carrier companies as well as MGAs to ensure business transfers are completed efficiently and accurately. The Contracting & Transfer Specialist is responsible for creating and updating reporting related to the activities being supported as well as updates to procedures and reference material for the field, and internal audiences.  This individual will be expected to demonstrate a high degree of accountability and personal drive in executing their responsibilities with a proven track record of identifying and implementing ongoing process improvements.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Insurance Business Transfers

  • Ensure timely connections are made between new Advisors and insurance carriers to initiate business transfers.

  • Works with new Advisors to accommodate in-force insurance business by coordinating transfers with insurance carriers & external MGAs from initiation to completion 

  • Support insurance contracting & transfer escalations

  • Includes working with Region Office operations team, Insurance carriers and consultants on escalations associated to Agent of Record changes.

  • Insurance Selling Code setups and challenges

  • Insurance business process updates focusing on support of all insurance contracting activities.

  • Ensure content related to insurance business transfers, agent of record changes, insurance selling code procedures are kept current on internal platforms and reference hubs

  • Support the creation of communications where required, for all audiences on notable changes and process improvements.

  • Reporting

  • Maintain tracking of insurance business transfers  

  • Support activities related to the reassignment of Orphaned Insurance Business

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Insurance contracting & transfer experience in an insurance industry position

  • Bilingual French, verbal and written

  • Completion of related post-secondary education in a relevant business discipline

  • Proven record of delivering exceptional service

  • Strong team player that values relationship building, collaboration and communication.

  • Ability to communicate complex business and technical information in a clear concise manner.

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, able to use logic and reasoning to foresee and identify potential problems and proactively take steps to remedy the issues required.

  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • Highly organized and able to deal with multiple demands from various stakeholders with a sound sense of urgency, attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to meet deadlines with strong follow-up skills required.

  • Proficient with MS Office suite Excel, Power Point
