What You Will Do:

  • Lead or oversee environmental review, surveys and permitting for maintenance programs. Establish systems for regulatory compliance, develop or recommend procedures, provide guidance and relevant written resources or support materials.

  • Lead or provide direct support, advice and assistance to Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, Engineering, Law and others for all phases of the development and execution of various projects and programs.

  • Create, update, and maintain various environmental compliance documents, contract specifications, technical resource documents, plans and similar.

  • Develop and coordinate Company environmental awareness, training, and outreach efforts, materials, and resources to support project development and execution.

  • Establish and oversee construction support processes, such as environmental inspection or monitoring, compliance documentation process and procedures, and ongoing technical support.

  • Participate in agency outreach, public meetings, and open houses as required to support projects.

  • Develop post project monitoring and follow-up approaches, plans and procedures to support successful completion of projects and smooth transition to operations.

  • Hire, coordinate and supervise consultants, contractors, and environmental inspectors.

  • Commonly work with other staff including: Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, or others.

  • Responsible for budgets and work orders up to $2.0 to $5.0M.

  • Geographic area of responsibility potentially includes all the U.S. in which projects and programs are being developed or underway, as well as being the point of contact for specific issues or areas of expertise.

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, physical, or biological science, engineering, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in relevant environmental applications.

  • Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific, and technical issues.

  • Communicate with a wide variety of people, including employees, management, regulatory agencies, and the public.

  • Organized and able to write clear documents and correspondence to various audiences.

Working Conditions:

  • Office work, with up to 25% to 50% travel of the office at times.

  • Work or interact with a broad range of Company office and field staff, supervisors and managers, agency personnel, landowners, and the public.

  • Frequently changing priorities and job requirements.

  • Critical deadlines affect schedule, budget and overall success of various projects and programs.

Physical Requirements:

Included but not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
