Exciting opportunity ahead! As a Low Carbon Energies Advisor you will be responsible for originating, developing and executing low carbon opportunities for GTM.  This role focuses on our Renewable Natural Gas and Hydrogen business through working with customers, developers, and internal partners to add and develop and enhance projects to our asset base.   This is a commercial position with a focus on developing relationships, establishing a business case, and negotiating legal agreements.   In addition to that, this role requires critical technical support to develop a project, understand technology and enhance returns of the business. Provides key industrial market knowledge, customer insight, and recommendations to senior leadership and other internal partners on highly complex matters.

This position focuses on developing organic projects in the low carbon energies space, however there is also a major supporting role for related M&A opportunities.

What You Will Do:

  • Scope and develop opportunities, coordinate meetings, provides project updates, networking and fostering relationships.

  • Identify and execute on M&A and BD opportunities through supporting the preparation of initial business case, long term strategic rationale, and capital appropriation memo to get executive approvals.

  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and following strategic plans; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; supporting audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

  • Support and sometimes lead with others’ support for the negotiation and execution of complex contracts worth approximately $5 -100 million.

  • Work with investment review, finance, and treasury to determine program financial viability, plan, and deployment of the appropriate metrics (Regulatory, Rates, financial structuring etc.) to measure success.

  • Be an ambassador and enhance department and Enbridge’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing specified outcomes and fostering a culture of customer centric focus, innovation, continuous improvement, leadership, and teamwork.

  • Work with legal, projects and risk management to structure and enforce contracts and commercial agreements.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations sometimes representing Enbridge on special committees or boards.

  • Customer contact for Low Carbon Energy Projects in the US

  • Works with Core Projects, Investment Review, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, Legal

  • Recommendations to specialists, managers, and directors.

  • Responsible for drafting project approval material with oversight from Managers and Specialists which will be used for briefing executives at the CAC

Required:

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics with four or more years of directly related industry experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of BD transactions including development, financing, mergers and acquisitions,

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial modeling, tax incentives, business case preparation, regulatory, and operations

  • Positive relationship building and leadership skills with both internal and external parties.

  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influence.

  • Ability to work with senior executives of various customer groups.

  • Analytical skills with an ability to work under pressure prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting target dates.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in sales and deeply engaged in project or program management.

  • Excellent organizational skills, consistent with having managed a complex system (e.g. growth process, taking a project from inception through to delivery with numerous internal partners and processes).

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Travel to other offices, field locations, industry events or external client’s location.

  • Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline oriented, highly visible at senior levels with numerous activities being undertaken concurrently.

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
