Enbridge Gas Ohio is hiring a Gas Design Project Management – Project Controls Supervisor who will provide direct supervision to the company’s Business Process Analysts and Permit and Restoration Specialists assigned to the Contractor Services and the Permit and Restoration teams. As a Supervisor, you will be expected to build and maintain strategic relationships with EGO pipeline contractors and support contractors and develop strategies for maintaining appropriate capacity. You will also work closely with Design and Construction teams and Supply Chain Management team on strategy and tactical plans related to bidding and blanket contract utilization.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Hire and create work assignments and goals to direct reports that include supporting contractors, providing contractor oversight, permitting, restoration, and customer complaint oversight.

    • Assignments to staff range from, but are not limited to, contractor communication, capabilities, and feedback tool.

    • Additional projects include LD process, OQ tracking, and cross bore process.

  • Lead development and execution of contractor metrics and reviews contractor performance.  Recommends appropriate corrective measures in response to unacceptable contractor activities.

  • Maintain EGO’s General Construction Requirements.

  • Help to successfully resolve contract disputes.

  • Interview and on-boards new pipeline contractors.

  • Advise in the technical training of employees and contractors.

  • Collaborate with all departments, as well as contractors, to improve productivity and efficiencies for job completion.

  • Responsible for controls, communication and reporting of contractor operator qualification requirements and drug and alcohol plans.

  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure consistent application of SOP’s, design and construction standards and contractor requirements.

  • Participate with management team to ensure compliance with all applicable DOT pipeline safety, EPA, OSHA, NFPA, state, local, legal and tariff regulatory requirements.

  • Provide data and summary reports of contractor performance to leadership teams.

  • Lead team to review application language and sign permit applications.  Negotiate permit fees as needed.

  • Provide restoration inspection metrics for distribution projects.

  • Intermediary between company and contractor on resolving restoration complaints.

Who you are:

You have:

  • A related Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of directly related experience OR a related Associate’s Degree and 7+ years of directly related experience OR a high school diploma/GED and 9+ years of directly related experience.

    • Directly related experience includes supervision, project management, project planning, distribution design, transmission/storage/gathering design, gas operations, construction, analysis, and leadership.

    • Degrees Preferred: Construction Management or Technology, Engineering or Engineering Technology, Business

  • Knowledge of natural gas pipeline regulations and procedures within EGO’s gas operations territory.

  • Knowledge of natural gas assets, operations, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge and application of customer contracts, agreements, terms, and conditions.

  • Awareness of applicable codes and regulations, design and construction standards, and project management methodology.

  • Strategic leadership skills and strong business acumen.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with a diverse work force.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
