As a SCM Advisor (Buyer), you will oversee all aspects of procurement, from competitive bids to purchase order issuance. What You Will Do:

  • As a senior resource you will be responsible for the process of purchasing requisitions for goods/services and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and requisition requirements.
  • With little guidance you can negotiate with suppliers, review terms and conditions, pricing, delivery, payment terms, cancellation charges, liquidated damages clauses, warranty, scope of work and change orders as required.
  • Issue and approve purchase orders per Enbridge Supply Chain Management, Legal and Delegation of Authorities (DOA) Policies.
  • Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between project managers and/or consultants and suppliers and resolves any procurement-related issues independently with little supervision.
  • Independent problem-solving and critical thinking are essential skills to identify and present various options.
  • When required, support special projects and corporate initiatives.
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings with multiple stakeholders and internal customers as required.
  • Obtain optimized pricing and use cost-efficient methods to assist with company-wide cost saving measures and departmental goals.
  • Train other department staff or end user department personnel as required.

Who You Are:

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or Economics with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a material/service buyer within Supply Chain, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, will be considered. For candidates who do not possess a University degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required.
  • Enrollment in a SCM related professional certification, such as PMAC, SCPM, CPSM or ISM, is considered an asset.
  • Thrives and works well under pressure in fast paced environment due to a high volume of requests.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Great communication skills with a focus on partnering with internal customers to provide exceptional service. Can communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment; desk work using computers and software.
  • Less than 5% of travel is required for team events within Canada and United States. Valid passport is required.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Salary range – $77,000-$100,000/yr
