We are looking for an Associate Meter Shop Technician to join our team!

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What You Will Do:

You will safely perform various functions relating to the inspection, repair and sorting of gas meters and automated meter reading devices (AMR). Learn and apply the different meter repair codes for residential, commercial, and industrial meter repairs and will participate in hands-on training in residential meter repair and AMR calibration. This will include sorting and classifying meters and regulators for repair. Learn to recognize and applies knowledge of different meters and regulators. Follow all established Safety and Environmental Guidelines and Policies to ensure safety. This will include wearing the proper assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Who You Are:

  • 0-2 years relevant experience.

  • Ability to collaborate with others, communicate clear instructions, and evaluate results.

  • Skilled in use of hand tool and pneumatic hand tools.

  • Meter Shop personnel are expected to work safely and follow all established safety protocol.

  • A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Preferred that you can drive a forklift.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 20 amount of pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 20 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 80 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.
