Mackenzie Financial Corporation is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Financial Analyst.  Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategy Planning & Analysis, the successful candidate will be a key contributor on the team with core responsibilities related to financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and reporting initiatives performed by the broader team that provide decision-making support to business leaders across Mackenzie. The successful candidates’ specific responsibilities will include:

 

  • Support the development of Quarterly, Annual and Multi-year business plans and forecasts, including pro-forma financials as well as profitability and variance analysis.
  • Support the development and maintenance of analysis that provide insight into profitability of the different products and business lines at Mackenzie.
  • Develop, maintain and update complex financial models, reconcile data from various sources and integrate them into analysis.
  • Manage and maintain data and databases to support reports and forecast models produced by the planning and analysis team.
  • Support the production of key industry decision-making reports and analytics for distribution to HR, Business and Finance leaders.
  • Collaborate effectively with finance and other internal stakeholders across all IGM companies.
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance existing processes, tools and resources.
  • Provide analytical/financial modeling leadership on various ad-hoc projects as required.

 

The following qualifications and skills set will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:

  • University degree in Finance/Business/Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA/CFA/MBA or working towards a professional designation is an asset
  • 4+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience within the financial services industry
  • Advanced financial and business modelling skills, including expert proficiency in Excel, VBA, Power Query and PowerPoint; PowerBI Skills are an asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, statistics and corporate finance and proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter and takes ownership, actively engaging with peers and other counterparts to deliver results.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines on an ongoing basis.
  • People-driven with strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $62,500-$75,500, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development
