About IG Private Company Advisory
IG Private Company Advisory (PCA) advises middle market businesses with sales of $20 million to $500 million on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. While recently launched, this new group is positioning itself to be a leader in this industry.
Position
The Vice President, Private Company Advisory (PCA) is responsible for executing M&A and corporate finance transactions including oversight and management of the work prepared by the associates, analysts and others. The VP will:
- work with owners of businesses to understand their goals and objectives,
- work with analysts and associates to oversee the development of financial models, transaction marketing materials, data room management, etc.
- contact buyers, investors and lenders to pitch the opportunity and facilitate due diligence, and
- work with lawyers, accountants and tax advisors to close the transaction.
In addition, the VP will train and development junior talent to advance within PCA.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of investment banking experience working with business owners and has relationships with Canadian and US private equity firms.
Requirements
- Education:
- University business degree
- MBA, CPA, CFA, CBV or advanced degree(s) preferred
- Experience
- 5+ years of relevant M&A and Corporate Finance tranaction experience within a well-respected financial services organization:
- Qualifications
- Strong project management skills and the ability to execute transactions from start to finish with high quality standards,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and French) with the ability to manage, negotiate and build relationships with clients, buyers, investors, lenders and other professionals.
- Proficient business valuation and modelling experience
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills
- Strategic thinker & ability to make sound business decisions
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Proficiency in other financial analysis tools such as Pitchbook or Capital IQ
- Demonstrated leadership skills, both with respect to managing and mentoring direct staff, as well as effectively influencing executive management of the business lines, growth-minded leadership, inspiring diversity
- Other
- Occasional travel will be required from time to time. This could include conferences, events and client meetings.
Knowledge of French and English is required to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec.
