Do you have an eye for detail?  Do you have great analytical skills and like being out in the field where the action is?  As a Corrosion Technician I, you will develop core skills and knowledge to conduct electrical surveys, perform atmospheric corrosion inspections, and electrical isolation tests.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Inspect, maintain and trouble-shoot natural gas pipeline facilities including, cathodic protection equipment and systems (rectifiers and ground-beds), corrosion control systems and methodology, and pipeline integrity procedures, practices and technologies.

  • Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of facilities relative to the assigned discipline(s).

  • Work closely with pipeline/plant personnel, technicians in the same or other subject areas, and contract personnel.

  • Ensure compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies.

  • Conduct electrical surveys to ensure adequate cathodic protection.

  • Perform atmospheric corrosion inspections and conduct electrical isolation tests.

  • Maintain cathodic protection and monitoring equipment.

  • Identify pipe, valves, and fittings using mechanical or electronic measurement devices.

  • Perform work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals. 

Who you are:

You have:

  • A High School Diploma or GED and minimal directly relevant training and experience.

  • A valid driver’s license.

  • Reside within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

  • Can perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Are able and willing to work overtime, weekends, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.

You are:

  • Able to work independently with little direction.

  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.

Preferred assets include:

  • 2+ years of work experience as a Technician or equivalent job knowledge.

  • Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Working knowledge of operations used in the maintenance of these facilities.

  • NACE certification in corrosion control is a plus in filling this position.
