We’re looking for a curious and motivated Engineer in Training II to join our Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) team. In this role, you’ll help identify, assess, and reduce risks across gas distribution assets—supporting safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
You’ll work with data, models, and field insights to better understand asset health and contribute to integrity plans and long‑term asset strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, learning, and applying data‑driven thinking in a real‑world infrastructure environment.
What You’ll Do

Analyze large datasets to improve understanding of asset condition and risk

Identify and assess distribution system hazards and support development of risk mitigation plans
-
Develop and enhance reliability models and asset health indices for DIMP reviews
-
Support planning and execution of inspections, surveys, and condition assessments

Build and maintain analytical tools or code to support effective decision‑making
-
Contribute to asset strategies and capital planning within the Asset Management Plan
Who you are
Required qualifications:
-
A university degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical preferred)
-
Two or more years of directly related engineering experience
-
Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
-
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Nice to have:
-
Programming experience, particularly in Python and related libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)

Experience with asset systems such as Maximo, GIS, or C55
-
Understanding of gas distribution systems

Awareness of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

Knowledge of reliability, integrity management, or statistics
-
Experience using Power BI
-
Project management skills

Working Environment
This role is primarily office‑based, with occasional travel for field visits to support inspections and assessments.
For Ontario Applicants only: $80,000 – $85,000/year. The final Compensation will be settled based on the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
