We are seeking an Engineer in Training in our Chatham office to provide support in the development of transmission system hydraulic designs for both pipeline and compressor facilities that support incremental and ongoing business.
The successful candidate is expected to develop hydraulic designs that help make informed decisions and maintain the hydraulic models through verifications and upgrades. You will have the opportunity to interact with many groups across the organization, support innovative, high profile projects and develop technical and interpersonal skills. What You Will Do:

Create, update, and maintain hydraulic pipeline models for Enbridge Gas Inc. Examine, design, and analyze the effects of system operations on reliability and propose infrastructure solutions, such as reinforcements, where required.

Collaborate with sales to evaluate impacts on the system when new customer connections or customer growth are identified. Evaluate customer usage patterns, energy transition, and energy efficiency assumptions along with department design standards to ensure accuracy of the annual simulation and forecast analyses.

Analyze and forecast short and long-range transmission system operating and infrastructure requirements under varying conditions and incorporate them into the forecast analysis.

Develop contingency plans when necessary to ensure system reliability and minimize system disruption during integrity work or to support emergency response activities.

Work with partners including Distribution Optimization Engineering, Business Development, Gas Control, Capacity Planning, District Operations, Storage and Transmission Operations, Gas Supply, and other clients to provide system operational support on a timely basis.
Who You Are:

You possess a University Degree in Engineering and up to 2 years of applicable experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Ability to think analytically and perform detailed analysis; Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time and meet defined timelines.

Familiarity with hydraulic modelling and associated PC applications.

Available to work at the Chatham office or relocate to the area independently.

Valid class G drivers’ license and maintenance of a responsible driving record.
