Note: Internally this role is referred to as FIMP Engineer.

Open to consider candidates across all other main Gas Distribution & Storage office locations in Ontario.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical support on facilities integrity matters. Play a lead role in preparing technical material for implementation of integrity inspection and remediations, with a primary focus on the inspection and assessment of pressure vessels and tanks.

  • Provide technical support to field execution team on pressure vessels and tanks inspection.

  • Review inspection reports and assess findings to provide safe, environmentally responsible and reliable service that is in compliance with the requirements of applicable standards and regulations (CSA Z662, CSA B51, O.Reg 210/01, API 510, API 579, API 653, and as prescribed by the provincial and federal regulatory authorities including Canada Energy Regulator and Technical Standards and Safety Authority) in Canada.

  • Prepare and review repair plans on pressure vessels and tanks.

  • Drive integrity program optimization via code interpretation, inspection technology selection, and risk-based decision-making.

  • Maintain and update program documents to improve effectiveness and efficiency in scope development, execution and reporting, as required to support senior team members.

  • Create and review inspection plans based on credible damage mechanisms and appropriate inspection methods.

  • Provide support to other departments as needed.

Who You Are:

Required:

  • University Engineering degree and four or more years’ experience.

  • Professional Engineering designation.

  • Relevant previous experience includes facilities integrity, station engineering, gas transmission, storage, and/or distribution, non-destructive examination, pressure vessel design.

  • Experience in the inspection and/or condition assessment of piping, pressure vessels, and tanks.

  • Experience and understanding of station design, construction practices, field operations, service procedures.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to manage different projects at a time.

  • Ability to motivate employees through flexibility, building relationships, and proven mentorship.

  • This position is expected to overcome challenges faced when dealing with several projects, responding to technical and operational inquiries, facilitating teams, or solving technical or operational problems.

Preferred:

  • Certification in API 510, API 653, API 570, CWB Visual Weld Inspector considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.

  • Travel and fieldwork frequency approx. 10-15% (work covers all Enbridge Gas Inc. FIMP assets.
