Enbridge Gas North Carolina (EGNC) is seeking a Paralegal with extensive experience to support a talented team of legal professionals. This position will be based in either Raleigh or Gastonia and provide paralegal and administrative support for a wide variety of legal needs. Are you interested? Apply today!

Here’s what you will do:

Independently provide paralegal services and administrative support by anticipating and initiating appropriate action to conserve supported lawyers’ and other team members’ time.

Communicate and work with all members of the Law Department and extended Enbridge team by taking a team approach to problems and their solutions. Exercise a high degree of discretion, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external contacts, as well as protecting from disclosure highly confidential and critical information.

Create, modify and revise documents for legal filings. Compile filing packages electronically. Submit pleadings and other documents to federal and state regulatory commissions. Track proceedings and updates filing system accordingly.

Provide litigation support, including creation of discovery and litigation notebooks, and track deadlines.

Assist in legal research activities and the preparation of routine transactional, real estate and other legal documents.

Process all mail and in person service for Enbridge Gas North Carolina.

Work alongside in-house counsel to ensure proper handling of matters assigned to outside counsel.

Manage processes for bonds, certificates, subpoenas, and condemnations.

Update and maintain Law Department matter tracking systems, and electronic and paper case files.

Perform general office duties, such as answering telephone calls, making appointments, scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements.

Provide high quality support to the Law Department. Other duties and support functions as assigned.
The qualifications that are required this job include the following:

Paralegal with 5+ years’ experience with legal documents and processes, such as contracts, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions.

Undergraduate Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent.

Extensive legal knowledge, including federal and state court systems and legislative and administrative systems.

Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Power Point) and ability to quickly learn systems/programs independently and assist team with technology issues.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability and flexibility to interact with a wide range of internal clients and external suppliers.

Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.

Detail oriented to ensure that all written work is free of mistakes, complete and well-presented.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong multi-taking skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
