What You Will Do:

Under general supervisor, this intermediate level position providing routine and more complex permitting and regulatory filing compliance for gas exploration, production, and extraction. Duties include but not limited to, collaborates with cross functional team members to collect technical and more complex data, compile more complex information, and submit to the various regulatory agencies for permit applications to drill (APDs), sundry notices and right-of ways. Monitor and apply for upcoming operations procedures. Participates with Drilling, Completion, and Operation Departments to provide information with required filings. Negotiate and secure routine and more complex landowner right-of-way agreements. Completes, reviews, and maintains documentation of permitting requests to ensure compliance with Federal and State Government Agency requirements. Maintain positive working relationships with city, county, state, tribal, and federal governmental regulatory personnel to ensure timely, safe, and accurate completion of permitting process. Participate in industry working groups relating to the needs of the company. Collaborates with team in the management of regulatory well records.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years directly related experience OR

  • Associate’s degree with 4+ years directly related experience OR

  • High school diploma/GED with 6+ years directly related experience

  • General knowledge and understanding of job specific applications of oil and gas operations, oil and gas regulatory, and terminology;

  • General knowledge of and ability to use personal computer and related software to meet department needs;

  • General knowledge and understanding of job specific applications of oil and gas federal and state regulatory agency rules and regulations;

  • General knowledge and understanding of job specific applications of new oil or gas well permitting process in various states;

  • Ability to define more complex problems, collect and analyze data, apply critical thinking skills, and draw conclusions;

  • Ability to work independently and part of a team;

  • Ability to plan and organize work;

  • Ability to develop and give presentations

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Business, Communications, Biology, Wildlife Biology, Range Management, Environmental Studies, Petroleum Engineering, or related Petroleum/Energy field

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, reads fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
