Are you an Engineer who loves to develop and implement enterprise strategy with respect to analysis of safety barriers?
 

In this role you will support the oversight of process safety performance and to proactively analyze and trend related performance measures to provide leadership with critical insights into performance status.  You will ensure that company-wide information on process safety events is tracked, aggregated and analyzed on a consistent basis, including consistent usage of Leak and Release Metric and Severity Table.

What you will do:

  • Conducts in-depth analysis and prepares annual benchmarking reports to provide senior leadership, including the President and CEO, with comprehensive insights into how our company compares to industry peers in S&R priority areas.

  • Conducts thorough scanning, analysis, and reporting of external and internal process safety high-value events, aiming to drive enterprise-wide learning and promote the adoption of best practices.

  • Collaborates with Business Unit Process Safety Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support incident investigations, ensuring a detailed understanding of incident details, root causes, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

  • Prepares targeted communications on enterprise performance status, including regular reports to senior management and the Board. Coordinates inputs from business units and leverages systems such as EnCompass to streamline the reporting process.

  • Contributes to corporate reports, such as the Enbridge annual report, CSR report, and Operational Reliability Report, by providing comprehensive process safety analysis.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized university.  Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.

  • Minimum of six years related experience in hydrocarbon pipelines and processing, chemical process safety, pipeline integrity, hydrocarbon exploitation or engineering design and assessment.

  • Advance knowledge and capability of Microsoft applications specifically PowerBI.

  • Broad based knowledge of one or more of the following areas: performance measurement/management, engineering design, reliability engineering, process safety, pipeline integrity or risk analysis, field-related and operations experience an asset.

  • Understanding of organizational change approaches and a successful track record of implementing internal change.

  • Ability to organize complex information and write concise documents and correspondence to various audiences.

  • Sharp analytical skills to quickly analyze complex situations, determine key issues and messages, and implement programs to address issues raised. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, influencing, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
