What You Will Do:
Ensure assigned categories are procured to mitigate risk and enhance total enterprise value through:
Internal Stakeholder Management

Establish proactive engagement rhythms with senior leaders and business partners; align plans and pivot as needed.

Create structured reporting/feedback channels to drive adoption and measure outcomes.
Market & Peer Intelligence and Cost Modelling
-
Continuously scan global trends, benchmark peers, and monitor emerging technologies; translate insights into strategy.

Maintain demand profiles and should-cost models; identify value and cost drivers for negotiations.
Category Strategy, Sourcing & Contracting
-
Lead cross-functional teams to build and implement comprehensive category strategies using TCO, sustainability, supplier diversity, and risk principles.

Be responsible for the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle (market engagement through contract execution) and develop innovative contracting approaches.

Drive contract utilization with implementation plans, metrics, reporting, and structured look-backs to reduce leakage.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

Segment suppliers and run governance cadences; lead performance, value engineering, and corrective actions.

Form strategic alliances and co-develop innovations with key suppliers; implement compliance and standards.
Who you are:
Required:
-
University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field.
-
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible and related experience in the SCM field, preferably in a field related to the category(ies) handled.

Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive behaviors.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative, take initiative, lead and handle change.

Experience negotiating substantially large and complex commercial agreements.

Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance without supervision.
Preferred:
-
Postgraduate qualification or MBA.
-
Completion of a SCM related professional certification, such as PMAC or ISM, is considered an asset.
Working Conditions:

Typical office environment.

Stress levels can be above normal as the work is highly visible and deadline oriented. Numerous, often opposing interests must be supervised concurrently while negotiating/influencing.

Moderate travel required, e.g., project sites, domestic and foreign suppliers, warehouses, Enbridge locations, occasionally requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
