We are seeking a Specialist Business Development to join our outstanding team! This role requires business, technical, negotiation, and BD transactions experience as it is responsible for Business Development (BD) initiatives related to Enbridge Gas (GDS). This role will join the business development team, supporting and executing acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures related to both regulated and unregulated energy opportunities. The individual will play a key role in supporting the strategy and growth plans of GDS. What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, this role will support the business development team in reviewing and analyzing M&A and BD opportunities related to regulated utility and unregulated investments

Work closely with internal teams and external resources to carry out and coordinate aspects of technical, financial and legal due diligence

Support financial modelling, financial analysis and preparation of corporate and asset level valuation analysis. Gather key financial and operational inputs to support realistic valuation assumption

Collaborate with investment review, finance and treasury teams to determine investment financial viability, and planning of the appropriate metrics (Regulatory, Rates, financial structuring etc.) to measure success.

Prepare initial business cases, long term strategic rationale, and capital appropriation memos required for executive approval. Translate operational, regulatory and financial analysis into concise recommendations.

Work with legal and risk management to structure contracts and commercial agreements.

Proactively monitor and map the regulated landscape across GDS’s North American footprint, including M&A trends and peer business development activities

Support other strategic and business development initiatives as needed.
Required:
-
University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or associated certifications e.g., CFA or MBA
-
6 or more years’ relevant experience in corporate or business development, finance roles, or energy consulting. Demonstrable and relevant transactional experience in one or more of the following: business development transactions, mergers and acquisitions, JVs , partnerships or project development.

Previous experience working with financial models and proficiency with valuation methodologies

Outstanding communications and presentation skills. Able to listen and understand as well as convey sophisticated concepts in a concise manner.

Ability to work under pressure prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting target dates

Results driven, strong interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills

Strong ability to conceptually frame, develop insights and tackle problems

Salary Range: $94,500 – $140,000*
