We are looking for a Specialist TIS Business Engagement to join our team in Edmonton AB, Calgary AB or Houston TX.

The Specialist acts as an intermediary between the business community and TIS teams (including internal teams and external technical vendors), working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to scope, develop and implement projects that meet business needs and expectations.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the long-term strategic plan and technology roadmap working with Business & TIS stakeholders and Business Architecture

  • Support the strategic approach to align complex projects and initiatives to better meet current and future business needs

  • Utilize innovation methodology to develop concrete solutions for existing business challenges

  • Develop business cases with TIS and business stakeholders to clearly articulate project costs and benefits

  • Work with Business and TIS stakeholders to establish benefits realization plan for expected business benefits

  • Work with Business and TIS stakeholders to identify integration opportunities for project systems (Primavera, Ecosys) to create process efficiencies

  • Foster and develop strategic partnerships with Projects and TIS to be a trusted advisor and advocate of business interests

  • Engage stakeholders at various levels of the organization to determine business needs and develop solutions that improve business efficiencies and/or reduce cost

  • Provide project leadership and expertise to manage external vendors relationships, oversee deliverables and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget

  • Ability to prioritize multiple objectives simultaneously and work with multiple vendors to determine critical path priorities

  • Manage emerging issues by proactively identifying risks and undertaking corrective operational, corporate or technology actions

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree OR a two-year technical diploma

  • 7+ years of directly related experience in Business Relationship Management

  • Hands-on experience with process design standards, as well as modeling, and analysis

  • Experience leading business analysis and demand planning for solutions

  • Ability to create compelling business cases and elicit benefit realization

  • Broad knowledge of project management and communication practices

  • Experience managing project delivery for complex, cross-functional business solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience managing RFP, RFP, and RFQs with support from Supply Chain and Legal

  • Experience negotiating SOWs with vendors

  • Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Oversees a larger scope of operations, where a significant portion of time is dedicated to managing issues and people and the areas of operations versus offering technical expertise.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, reads fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
