This role (Specialist, System Optimization) is a strategic position that oversees, manages and stewards various Customer Service Operations system optimization initiatives. Typical these initiatives include modifications of existing US Transmission (UST) assets to increase throughput and/or improve operational flexibility, initiatives to expand or improve storage assets capabilities, initiatives to leverage existing assets to increase revenue and TIS investments in business applications to support CSO optimization efficiency. The role requires strong stakeholder relationships with Gas Control, Field operations, Projects, Regulatory, Environment, TIS, Engineering and Asset management.

What You Will Do:

  • The successful candidate will have a portfolio of initiatives that they steward from conception to completion based on business priorities.

  • The typical portfolio value is between $50 and $200 million, depending on the active initiatives as the time. The role will be involved in planning, budgeting, economic evaluation, option analysis and supporting the execution of work tasks necessary to complete initiative within deadlines and budget constraints.

  • Create, maintain and enhance the CSO initiative portfolio as needed to deliver desired results

  • Developing and maintaining the portfolio roadmap including project scope & objectives

  • Hosting quarterly review meetings with key stakeholders to garner support for the roadmap and adjust (add/update/remove projects) roadmap as needed

  • Working with appropriate teams to define scope, design initiative, and gather cost estimates for the roadmap projects

  • Ensuring all funding requests are in appropriate systems (Oracle and/or C55 (Copperleaf)) and have all required and necessary information available in the appropriate system

  • Sheppard funding requests through the review and approval processes for GTM

  • Once approved ensure all initiatives are properly set up in Oracle for tracking, forecasting and reporting purposes

Who You Are:

  • Related university degree and 8+ years’ experience

  • Ability to think strategically and align projects with business objectives.

  • Demonstrates broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, identifying opportunities and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of project and portfolio management methodologies (e.g., AgileWaterfall).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
