The Senior Advisor – International Financial Planning and Analysis supports the budgeting and monthly forecasting process for the International assets while performing variance analysis at a project level. The Senior Advisor also is responsible for assisting with complex financial planning and analysis (FP&A) deliverables to support the finance leaders of Power Operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare sophisticated FP&A deliverables and business analysis to provide to the finance leaders of Power Operations (in a manner that is easy to understand, conceptualize, and operationalize). The following reports and analyses are used by the leaders to make critical business decisions: Budgets and LRP, Monthly Forecasts, Monthly Financial Summary (MFS), Headwinds/Tailwinds, Flash Report, and Modelling

  • Communicate and answer questions from senior leaders, which requires specialized knowledge, expertise, and experience related to financial planning and analysis, modelling, International accounting standards, GAAP and non-GAAP requirements, and offshore wind business development operations.

  • Prepare analysis for monthly operational reports, as well as monthly accruals, for International Power entities to understand the variance drivers.

  • Consolidate the annual International budgets, with the ability and knowledge to understand, analyze and extrapolate data from the source documents

  • Prepare the monthly forecast template for the International assets.

  • Prepare the monthly flash report and associated support files

  • Work closely with Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Tax and Treasury to provide support and analysis related to the International assets.

  • Perform research and analysis for ad hoc questions and requests from various stakeholders.

  • Special projects as required.
     

Who You Are:

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral); able to work well virtually with team and other stakeholders in decentralized European locations, as well as other time zones within North America.

  • 6 or more years of directly related accounting experience.

  • CPA or other professional accounting designation.

  • Positive attitude and proven standout colleague, demonstrating a high level of cooperation and mutual respect.

  • Excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills.

  • Strong financial system skills; experience with various financial accounting systems and applications.

  • Ability to convey highly technical messages in a way other stakeholders can understand and operationalize.

  • Ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile and evaluate all financial data and make sound decisions.

  • Ability to apply broad business, industry and technical knowledge in resolving problems.

  • Solid understanding of accounting within the renewable power sector.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
