What You Will Do:
- Assisting the Specialist or Manager Category Management in maintaining company-wide demand profiles and external supply and demand market intelligence (MI) information, including, but not limited to: gathering and cleansing spend information; collecting and compiling category specific demand forecasts; researching and tracking current and emerging market intelligence (trends, indices, cause/effect, etc.); analyzing supply markets to establish available (current & future) market capacity and lead times; and profiling key supply market competitors.
- Developing and maintaining a network of stakeholders to gain input into demand planning and forecasting, assist in strategy development, advocate the use of the negotiated contracts and influence strategy implementation.
- Supporting the Specialist, Category Management or Manager, Category Management in their development of sourcing strategies, including, but not limited to developing RFX packages; compiling proposals; and preparing award recommendations.
- Providing analytics support and ongoing management for key agreements under SRM, including, but not limited to developing/tracking key performance indicators (KPIs); supporting agreement amendments; and supporting SRM meetings.
- Responding to ad hoc requests for market pricing, economic intelligence, reporting, etc.
- Development and implementation of category strategies of less complex categories by building category strategies, utilizing market intelligence, demand management, sustainability, supplier diversity and total cost of ownership, with follow through metrics as required to assure performance, supply continuity and manage risk; and executing sourcing strategies, from proposal development and solicitation, to contract negotiation, to recommending solutions and contract execution.
Who You Are:
- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field with two or more years of experience. For candidates who do not possess a University degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Advanced competency in MS Excel.
- Demonstrates a strong analytical, attention to detail and accuracy skillset.
- Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, to relay basic facts.
- Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and conflicting priorities.
- Keen interest in understanding economic/market conditions and their impact to our business.
- Willingness to build collaborative relationships and share information, best practices and lessons learned.
