We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Evaluation and Control Sr Engineer to lead risk management initiatives and support critical safety and business decisions. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and drives continuous improvement in risk governance across Enbridge’s operations.

What you will do:

  • Facilitate operational risk management through risk registers, hazard identification, and quantitative risk assessments (QRAs).

  • Evaluate financial, safety, operational, environmental, and reputational risks; recommend optimal risk treatments and resource allocation.

  • Champion integrated risk-informed decision-making (IRIDM) and support annual asset investment planning.

  • Maintain and enhance risk management policies, procedures, and governance documents; establish risk tolerance criteria.

  • Oversee hazard inventory updates, control performance reviews, and root cause analysis following incidents.

  • Prepare annual risk governance reports and communicate findings to leadership.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance; present methodologies and results to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulators; support audits and compliance activities.

Who You Are:

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Engineering Professional designation.

  • Minimum 6 years of technical experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis techniques (HAZOP, FMEA, What-If).

  • Skilled in quantitative and qualitative risk evaluation models.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA).

  • Experience in risk management, asset integrity, pipeline operations, and regulatory compliance.

  • Familiarity with codes and standards (CFR 192, OSHA 1910.119, ASME B31.8S, ISO 31000, API 1173).

  • Experience with risk tools (PHAST/SAFETI, BowTie XP) and programming (VBA, Python, R).

  • Knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, and Power BI.

Working Conditions

  • 90% office environment, 10% field exposure.

  • Occasional work near mechanical parts, chemicals, and elevated noise levels.

  • Must meet regulatory deadlines and work under pressure.
