As a trusted Senior Safety Advisor, you will provide occupational safety support in the Eastern Region Operations. You will ensure full use of Enbridge leading indicator programs, assurance assessments, incident management, communications, and contractor engagement. You will use your strong analytical and report writing skills to review leading and lagging indicator trends to develop safety management system improvements.

What you will do:

  • Operationalize the Enbridge Safety Culture Framework by promoting and seeking out opportunities to strengthen safety culture attributes.

  • An influential contributor in the development, implementation, and sustainment of occupational health and safety programs, standards, safety cultural assessments and training programs.

  • Provide technical expertise to operational leadership on SIF (Serious Injury and Fatality) prevention throughout the lifecycle of managing work activities. Deliver detailed analysis and assurance of high energy hazards and their control methods.

  • Deliver technical guidance to operational leadership by reaffirming safety standards and work execution management through detailed assurance of work activities and participation in corrective action plans.

  • Support implementation of Occupational Hygiene plans, initiatives, and monitoring. Additionally provide constructive feedback on program improvements to the OH group.

  • Lead small work teams on problem identification, and problem-solving issues to support continuous improvement of operational reliability.

Who you are:

Required:

  • Degree/Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation/ Certified Safety Professional or other Professional Board Certification is preferred.

  • Six or more years of professional work experience in the Health & Safety field within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

  • Influence without authority and work collaboratively with site partners.

  • A self-starter able to lead multiple tasks and work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Effective communication and social skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, self-managed, strategic, initiate and manage change, work.

  • You will be required to undergo various background screenings that includes but is not limited to 5 year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored drug testing.

Preferred:

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or other Professional Safety Certification

Working Conditions:

  • 70% +/- Office environment requiring extensive work on computers, networking with partners, research of technical issues and development of plans and reports.

  • 30% +/- travel that includes field work and travel expectations for audits, reviews, inspections, assessments, meetings, training, and field safety support.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required to manage work priorities, accommodate field schedules, and address partner needs.

  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods (approx. 10 days) and work extended hours as required for emergency response support.

Salary Range is $96,000-140,000/yr CAD
Salary will be based on candidate’s experience and education. *Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
