Introduction
System Services Representatives are the primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and software support and delivery of operational services.  Sound pretty important?  Absolutely!  You will advise clients of preventive maintenance, configuration, operation and environmental factors which may drastically impact product performance or impair the client’s IT operation.

Your Role and Responsibilities
The System Service Representative is responsible for activities related to providing technical service to IBM and Multi-Vendor environments. This will include interacting with customers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create a connection with customers are vital in this position.

The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of electronics, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to properly use tools and test equipment. Both written and spoken communication skills are a position requirement, as is the ability to follow written or spoken directions and to provide information to others in a clear and concise manner.

The selected candidate must possess the ability to deal with customers in a calm, caring manner as well as have a helping personality, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and an effective communicator.

Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned and must be willing to participate in an On Call / Standby rotation with the team.

This role is part of an Ottawa / Gatineau (National Capital Region) team providing support to our Clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Must have a valid drivers license and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime and various shifts / standby.
  • Hardware technical repair capability.
  • Client relationship skills.
  • Proactive self-starter.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Billingual written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Computer hardware service experience and proficiency including knowledge of associated software.
