The Trust Accounting Department at Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for a Trust Accountant position. Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Completing daily bank reconciliations along with cash flow analysis; and record discrepanciesResolving any discrepancies with banking service providers, revenue agencies or internal departmentCompleting weekly/monthly tax reconciliations with internal records and CRA/MRQ statementsCompleting manual tax slips as required with electronic filing as part of year-end activities Provide support to internal departments by responding to requests for information and/or assistanceEnsure that the established corporate policies and control procedures are enforcedUpdate procedural manuals as required to ensure completenessMaintain daily statistical reporting for departmental metricsAssist the Manager with ongoing process review and reengineering to ensure optimum efficiencyProvide business support on new projects and initiatives as assignedConsult with the Manager for resolution of more complex issues as requiredThe successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:Post-secondary education in business/commerce with an Accounting/Finance majorMinimum 1 year working experience in a finance/accounting or banking environmentGood working knowledge of general accounting principlesSolid PC software knowledge (Windows, MS Excel, and Word skills)Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task and handle multiple prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail oriented with high level of accuracyStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work in team environment and collaborate with departments across the organizationKnowledge of Canadian taxation and registered plans an assetKnowledge of mutual fund industry; CSC securities course an asset; knowledge of NI81-102Knowledge of SAP application an assetPlease visit our career page by clicking on the following link: https://www.mackenzieinvestments.com/en/careers We thank all applicants for their interest in Mackenzie Investments; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
