The Modern Workplace Engineer is responsible for architecting, engineering, and optimizing secure, scalable, and automated digital workplace solutions built on the Microsoft ecosystem. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced collaboration, productivity, and endpoint management capabilities across hybrid and remote environments, leveraging Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Power Platform, and related technologies. The position emphasizes automation, integration, and adherence to Zero Trust principles.
Is this role right for you?
• Design and implement enterprise-grade Microsoft 365 solutions, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Engineer identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and advanced security controls.
• Develop AI readiness strategies and enable Microsoft Copilot for M365.
• Architect security and compliance frameworks leveraging Microsoft Purview and other security baselines.
• Design and configure multi-tenant environments, ensuring segmentation and isolation for risk reduction.
• Build automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, incorporating CI/CD practices, code reviews, and approval workflows.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and policy-as-code solutions to automate administrative tasks and enforce configuration standards.
• Implement lifecycle automation for accounts, roles, and licenses across Microsoft 365.
• Optimize platform performance through proactive monitoring, analytics, and capacity planning.
• Engineer governance models for Microsoft 365 Groups, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Implement compliance controls for internal standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Design secure external collaboration workflows, including guest user lifecycle management and service account governance.
• Develop Power Platform security architecture, including DLP policies, encryption, and connector restrictions.
• Design secure integrations between Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and external systems using approved connectors.
• Engineer custom connectors and automation flow for Copilot Studio and Power Platform solutions.
• Build monitoring dashboards for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Power BI, and Power Platform service health.
• Develop reporting solutions to track usage, compliance, and optimization opportunities.
• Lead engineering projects for modern workplace deployments and hybrid work enablement.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and PMs to align technical designs with business objectives.
• Champion Zero Trust principles and drive adoption of secure-by-design practices.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Proven experience with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access, and identity governance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven productivity tools.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience with Power Platform administration, governance, and ALM.
• Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
