Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join the Toronto Argonauts Football Club as a Seasonal Equipment Assistant. The term of this role is May 1, 2026 to November 1, 2026, with the option to extend based on playoffs.

As part of the equipment staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment transfers between various locations in and around Toronto, including our home stadium (BMO Field) and practice fields in the Toronto area. This position requires excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager to ensure the seamless transition of both the home and visiting team’s equipment and support the overall equipment operations of the football club. 

  • Coordinate the transfer of the visiting team’s equipment to and from the airport, practice facility, and game arena. 

  • Collaborate with the Head Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager to plan and execute efficient equipment transfers. 

  • Help organize and lead the set up and breakdown of equipment for practices and Training Camp.

  • Organize, update and prepare game day equipment in a timely manner.

  • Assist in preparing and packing equipment travel bags for each away game.

  • Provide assistance in maintaining the home locker room, including equipment inventory, laundry, repairs, general maintenance and stocking of locker room supplies. 

  • Assist with the day-to-day laundry duties.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures when handling equipment and operating equipment transfer vehicles. 

  • Collaborate with other members of the equipment staff to ensure smooth operations and support ongoing long-term projects. 

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years experience in equipment management or a similar role for a professional sport organization or collegiate athletics. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. 

  • Problem-solving skills; multi-task, ability to work with frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid changing events and multiple priorities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and visiting team staff as well as various departments and staff at all facilities. 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the club’s schedule. 

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (100+ pounds), as well as the willingness to work in a physically demanding environment. 

  • Must have driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:

$30,000 for the duration of the contract (equivalent of approximately $60,000 annually)
