Purpose
The Manager Communications, Private Investment Counsel (PIC) Executive Office is responsible for the development and execution of communications and support material to support PIC. This includes a lead role in the development and delivery of executive communication initiatives as well as communication material for PIC Offices nationally.

 

The incumbent is expected to work closely with PIC Executive Office teams to manage and deliver on multiple, concurrent and often urgent communication requests. They are also responsible for ensuring the look of the material meets SWM standards and for publishing the material on the WealthNet.

 

Accountabilities
Leading the development of all communication material to PIC Offices nationally:

  • Write, edit, and direct the design as well as the production of communication materials including, News items, memos, guides, presentations, job aids and other communication material.
  • Evolve PIC Communications strategy
  • Manage PIC Communications inbox
  • Effectively gather appropriate information from partners in project groups, business lines, and support areas.
  • Create and Maintain PIC Communications Intake process to ensure all items are reviewed and worked in a timely manner in order to meet all communication deadlines.
  • Participating in management Meetings and Project Launch initiatives
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the day-to-day operation of PIC Offices and PIC EO teams in order to effectively communicate with all levels of staff
  • Co-ordinate, manage, approve and translate all content related to PIC on WealthNet
  • Planning, Composing and distribution of field communications to support program rollout and sustainment of initiatives
  • Liaisons with SWM COMMS team to ensure PIC is aligned with the SWM guidelines
  • Coordinating the delivery with internal stakeholders, including SWM Partners and Communications as/when required

 

Leadership Support:

  • Play a key role in managing internal and external communication content on behalf of the PIC Leadership Team: establish cadence of communications, format,
  • Develop external communications strategy through competitive research and analysis
  • Plan and execute town halls, strategy offsites, and other ad hoc leadership events (venue sourcing, invites, staffing, survey follow up, speaker selection, PowerPoint clean up, run sheet management).
  • Support the broader team with communication plans and protocols around sensitive or escalated issues with transparency and empathy.
  • Work closely with PIC partners and leadership teams to maintain an up to date communications calendar

 

Performance Measurement:

  • Monitor communication effectiveness through metrics and feedback.
  • Continuously improve communication processes based on data insights.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • 5+ Year of experience in Communications, preferably in a Financial Services environment
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Communications, English, Business or Marketing
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Word, Power Point, Excel

 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in Wealth Management environment
  • Knowledge of web development and html
  • Ability to read and write in French
