Scotiabank is seeking a Senior Manager to join GRM Strategic Initiatives for a 14-month period to cover for a maternity leave.  The GRM Strategic Initiatives team is leading a significant digital transformation implementing innovative credit solutions that support Global Risk Management (GRM) and multiple Business Banking units including Global Banking & Markets and International Banking.  A foundational part of this transformation has been the Credit360 application, a proprietary low-cost technology that supports portfolios across 25 geographies within the Bank.

 

The Senior Manager will join a dynamic team passionate about evolving the Bank that is responsible for the automation and digital transformation of credit risk processes and data collection within the adjudication phase of the Business Banking client lifecycle.  The Senior Manager will be a change agent, required to develop strong working relationships with various partners across the organization and to interact with various levels of decision makers to champion the mandate of the team.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Establish working relationships with business stakeholders (Banking and Credit), Technology partners and other functions (Enterprise Reporting, Finance, Audit, Data Governance, Compliance)
  • Engage business stakeholders to understand and document current state processes and end-to-end data flows
  • Apply strategic and critical thinking to recommend interim and target operating models
  • Chair meetings to socialize recommendations with stakeholder groups and obtain buy-in
  • Complete data profiling to support documentation of business rules and solution design
  • Document business requirements for validation with subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with Technology team to define digital solutions that support recommended operating model
  • Lead business testing activities for new features and prepare release reports
  • Support change management activities including documentation, communication and product demos
  • Identify opportunities to optimize business processes, while enriching data used for reporting, analytics and capital purposes
  • Maintain and contribute to the prioritization of user feedback and defect logs
  • Complete other related duties as assigned, including problem solving complex issues

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in business or technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services and risk management
  • Experience contributing to the implementation of new risk management solution(s)
  • Detailed-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and collaboration skills
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Business Banking Credit Risk processes, policies and guidelines will be an asset
  • Familiarity with Business Banking credit and limit monitoring systems will be an asset
  • Experience with different project delivery approaches (i.e. waterfall, agile) will be an asset
  • Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, will be an asset
  • Proficiency in MS PowerBI will be an asset
