Canadian Banking Finance (CBF) creates customer and shareholder value by providing financial leadership to our business partners with insightful financial analysis, and maintaining effective financial controls, through a team of highly motivated finance professionals. The Retail Banking finance team within CBF plays a key role in the financial reporting, planning and analysis for the retail sector.

 

The Senior Manager will contribute to the overall success of the Retail Banking finance team, ensuring goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the Bank’s business strategies and objectives.  The position supports the Director, Retail Banking Finance, working closely with various stakeholders including CB Finance Planning and Forecasting, Expense Management, and Business Lines Finance teams. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Develop and maintain a self-serve Power BI financial dashboard to enable more efficient and effective operations, and to help deliver financial insights
  • Support in delivery of Retail Banking Anaplan FP&A project
  • Provide Business Insight and Strategic Support:
    • Manage the delivery of financial reporting and analysis on a timely basis while ensuring data accuracy and completeness
    • Support the delivery of financial forecasting, annual planning and strategic outlook in providing reviews and value-added analysis to help identify areas of opportunities
  • Maintain and develop strong controls over operational and analytical processes:
    • Effectively manage and prioritize ad hoc analysis with various teams in CB Finance
    • Provide dynamic reporting and analysis on key financial performance metrics to support CB Retail Banking profitability

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A solid understanding of financial and management reporting principles
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills; attention to details; ability to analyze business results and identify issues and trends
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and deliver high-quality results under very tight deadlines; continuously assess priorities and business requirements, and balance between regular deliverables and priority requests
  • Strong data management and modelling skills; ability to build financial models and “executive ready” dashboards
  • Understanding of banking financial statements, profitability drivers within Canadian Banking, including knowledge of Retail banking products
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and stewardship capabilities in a complex and changing environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as well as being a self-starter
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills a must
  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or related field
  • MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years FP&A or equivalent experience
  • Expert level skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Power BI
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s source and reporting systems an asset (i.e. OBI, Hyperion, Smartview)
