The Derivatives Clearing Officer and Senior Float provides support for exchange traded options. Working as part of a team, they will provide backup and support for all functions within the Contracts & Options departments. The incumbent will assume new roles and responsibilities as assigned, driven by new and changing business requirements. They will also provide support for other desks such as US and Canada Equity Clearing and Trade Admin.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Perform CDCC/OCC trade reconciliation, options settlements, CDCC/OCC Position reconciliation, and investigate and reconcile any breaks
- Process listed options execution trade giveups to client custodial brokers
- Monitor and settle pledges/trades for Custody clients with external brokers/firms
- Process day to day options operations, including but not limited to exercise/assignments and position transfers
- Monitor Illogical and pair off reports and take appropriate action
- Generate and submit daily regulatory reports Large Options Positions Report, CIRO debt report
- Provide support for all other roles in contracts and derivatives department
- Cross train and provide coverage on other areas of the department such as Trade admin, CA & US clearing and other roles in the department
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or working towards is an asset
- Sound knowledge of the following systems: On Demand, Microsoft Excel, CDCC Sola, OCC Encore & OAES
- Knowledge of options products including option expiry
- Knowledge of Arrow, AS400, BPSA, Webpost, Broadridge products (pertaining to trade processing)
- The ability to provide reliable and timely responses professionally to direct inquiries from advisors cdcc, occ & exchange personnel and other broker/dealers
- Effective communication, listening and interpersonal skills with an ability to remain professional in difficult and/or high stress situations
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
