The Technical Project Coordinator will contribute to the overall success of the Global Risk Management in C&CA ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Oversee technical project components, ensuring deliverables align with overall project objectives and timelines.
- Creating new automation systems or improving existing ones to streamline processes.
- Writing and updating code, often using languages like Python, Java, or VBA, to automate tasks.
- Continuously monitoring automated systems to ensure they operate smoothly and making necessary updates or repairs.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency with automation and develop automation plans that align with business goals.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and technical departments to ensure clear understanding and execution of project specifications and requirements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including tracking system updates and technical procedures.
- Conduct regular project reviews and reports to update all stakeholders on project status and resolve any technical hurdles.
- Assist in resource allocation and planning to optimize productivity and budget adherence.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in Project Management and Automation Tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism) are desirable.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in managing technical projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing automation solutions.
- Experience with VBA and other scripting tools for automation is mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing project documentation and automation processes.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Power Automate).
- Experience in Banking is a plus.
