Contributes to the overall success of the Credit Solutions Group in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Credit Solutions Group, the position is responsible for supporting Canadian Commercial Banking in achieving its goals.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Review and validate client contracts (i.e., Credit Agreements, Commitment Letters, Banking Agreements) to verify implementation of loan is following the terms in the contracts.

Support preparation of various reports, and support projects and initiatives aimed at achieving efficient and effective credit and operational processes.

Performs reasonability tests to ensure accuracy and credibility of underlying data used in reporting.

Support the maintenance of all credit documentation templates and ensure documentation needs are addressed and effectively communicated.

Participates and provides support to Project Team Leads on various initiatives.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, in order to develop and maintain relationships with Commercial business customers

You are enrolled in an MBA or undergrad degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.

You have strong knowledge and understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

You have prior experience in providing customer needs-based advice and solutions

You have natural curiosity and passion for satisfying customer needs

You have analytical skills and strong attention to detail

You are able to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook effectively

You have problem solving skills

You have presentation skills

You have the ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
