What you will be doing:

 

Tangerine is looking for a motivated, customer focused Product Senior Manager for Tangerine Credit Cards who will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the Credit Cards business within Tangerine ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedure.  

 

The successful candidate will work with partners across Tangerine and Scotiabank to play a key role in evolving our products and improving experience across the customer lifecycle, while ensuring we deliver quality experiences to our customers every day. 

 

The incumbent will report directly to the Director, Credit Cards.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Have responsibility for the credit card product offerings

  • Contribute to the product strategy and profitability by implementing new products and programs and enhancing existing programs

  • Manage product portfolio activities including overall P&L responsibility, managing product features, and working with marketing and acquisition to determine acquisition and retention offers, budgets and campaigns

  • Employ financial, market, and industry analyses in drawing conclusions and developing portfolio/product/program recommendations

  • Contribute to the development and deliver new programs from concept to execution including the preparation of supporting business cases, documents, presentations, and project plans  

  • Develop and execute the communication strategy, with continual adjustments and improvements as needed

  • Manage and support project plans for implementing initiatives.    Identify milestones, timing and recommend resources required to complete initiatives

  • Drive post-analysis reporting and measurement of initiative results with Finance and Analytics 

  • Analyze and develop recommendations for improvements and enhanced efficiencies for future portfolio campaigns/programs/initiatives

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.  Implement and execute day business controls to meet obligations with respect to risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.  

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. 

  • Leads the Credit Card portfolio’s Engagement plan and initiatives with the goal of increasing customer activation and usage in the front book and reducing customer attrition in the back book.  

  • Partners with the marketing team & relevant product managers to revamp critical EMOB customer journeys for the front book

  • Partners with the marketing team & relevant product managers to develop a data driven engagement plan that helps stem customer attrition and dormancy in the back book  

  • Works with Marketing on budgets and campaigns linked to customer engagement

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or other Graduate degree a plus

  • Detailed understanding of credit card business or relevant experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially delivering strong business cases and presentations

  • Working knowledge of marketing and research methodologies

  • 5+ years progressive experience in Card Product Management and/or Strategy roles preferred

 

Abilities:

  • Effective project management, collaboration, and relationship management skills demonstrated through previous roles

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to navigate a multifaceted global organization to secure resources, information and consensus through determination, personal creativity, drive, and conviction

  • Ability to develop effective executive-level communications and presentation material.

  • Strong facilitation, analytical and structured problem-solving skills, especially in ambiguous situations
