These services may include management, operational support (e.g. HR services, fraud support, etc.) and oversight (e.g. Audit).. The Global Transfer Pricing program helps ensure that the costs of providing a service borne by one BNS entity for the benefit of another are allocated appropriately and comply with legislative tax and transfer pricing requirements. The Global Transfer Pricing team supports the governance of BNS’ Global Transfer Pricing program. This role has two primary responsibilities:
- Governance/Oversight of BNS’ Global Transfer Pricing Program by providing guidance on execution of the Program Framework and ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Serving as the Region’s Transfer Pricing (RTP) lead for services where BNS Canada is a party to the intragroup arrangement requiring certain workflow steps be completed within BNS’ centralized Global Transfer Pricing tool/portal (GIST).
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Oversight of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) Templates: Maintain the Global Master Service Level Agreement (MSLA) schedule template, including coordination with appropriate stakeholders in Legal and Global Taxation, to support and deliver updates to the MSLA Schedule template in the GIST tool.

- Assist with the development of tools to monitor the status and progress of open requests as managed via GIST. Contribute to the timely follow up of such open items to ensure a quick resolution.
- SLA Delivery: Support the end-to-end process of a successful delivery of SLAs. Coordination includes facilitating the creation and approval of SLAs in GIST, ongoing monitoring of SLA adherence, communicating outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure consistency with the Transfer Pricing Framework and refresh/review SLAs every 3 years.
- SLA Repository: Manage the GIST system including access to SLA schedules, billing and all other transfer pricing related content to determine what gaps may exist in SLAs vs. services delivered for Head Office.
- Service Reviews: Work closely with Service Providers in defining services that reflect the support provided to their service recipients, overseeing compliance with local regulators, OECD Guidelines and internal policies/guidelines. Work with the Region’s Finance Team (RFT) to provide guidance on suitable cost drivers used to allocate costs.
- Develop a sound knowledge of the Bank’s transfer pricing procedures to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of execution frameworks to deliver training related to Transfer Pricing for the Intragroup Services Framework, as required.
- Work on ad hoc requests from key stakeholders and participate in special projects, as required.
